This summer, Eminem fans are in for a treat as the legendary rapper gears up to release his 12th studio album titled The Death of Slim Shady.

The announcement was made during a surprise appearance at the NFL Draft's opening night in Detroit, where Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, also debuted a gripping trailer on social media.

The trailer features a crime reporter delving into the demise of Eminem's notorious alter ego, Slim Shady, sparking intrigue and speculation among fans. Slim Shady first emerged on the scene with the 1997 Slim Shady EP and was further popularized by the 1999 The Slim Shady LP.




In the trailer, the reporter portrays Slim Shady as a controversial figure whose bold lyrics and audacious behavior have attracted many adversaries. Rap icon 50 Cent also appears, offering a stark description of Slim Shady: "He's not a friend, he's a psychopath." The narrative then explores the hypothetical circumstances surrounding "the murder of Slim Shady," with Eminem ominously noting, "I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim."

Eminem's previous album, Music to Be Murdered By, was released in January 2020. It soared to the top of the Billboard 200 charts and featured the hit single "Godzilla" with Juice Wrld, which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
